Hello all! Today I am going to review Godrej Nupur 100% Pure Henna. As I have mentioned in my earlier posts too, I have started seeing few grey strands in my hair from few months. I am in my late twenties and I feel it is a part of ageing that we all have to deal with. I try taking care of my diet but there is so much to do everyday that applying good quality henna powder once a month to cover 3-4 grey strands seems like a more feasible option. Today I will be reviewing Godrej Nupur Henna Mehndi powder that I purchased recently while shopping. The pack mentions that it is made of 100 % pure henna and me being a lover of natural chemical free products, I instantly purchased it. Read on to know more about Godrej Nupur Henna Mehndi and my experience with it.

HOW TO USE?
For hair: Soak Nupur Henna in lukewarm water for 2-3 hours ( e.g. for every 30 g of henna powder, you will need to add approximately 120 ml water). You may add oil/curd for extra softness. Apply paste evenly from root to tip of the hair. Leave it for 3-4 hours. Rinse thoroughly with water.
For hands / feet: Wash your hands/feet with soap and water and allow them to dry. Mix Nupur Henna with sufficient water to form a smooth paste and allow it to soak for around 1 hour. Use this mixture to draw design on hands/feet. Allow the mixture to remain on the hands/feet for atleast 2-3 hours. Remove/ wipe off the product from your hands/feet or wash with water if not removed easily.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH GODREJ NUPUR HENNA MEHNDI POWDER
Godrej Nupur Henna Mehndi comes in green and brown colored packet with initials and instructions mentioned on it. Packaging is simple and basic like other henna powders given the price. Inside the packet is brown colored henna mehndi powder with strong henna smell. I have always liked mehndi smell and hence found Godrej Nupur Henna Mehndi powder smell very natural and not at all strong.
Godrej Nupur Henna Mehndi has instructions written on it which states that you need to soak mehndi 2-3 hours prior in lukewarm water before applying it and then keep mehndi paste for 3-4 hours on hair before washing it. I followed the steps and applied Godrej Nupur Mehndi in same way on my hair. I have long straight hair and although have only 3-4 grey hair strands, I applied this thick mehndi paste on my whole hair. I used almost 1/4th quantity of this henna powder in one go. I kept this mehndi paste on my hair for almost 3 hours and then washed my hair with normal temperature water. I usually have habit of shampooing my hair next day after I have applied henna powder on my hair.

After washing off Nupur Henna mehndi, I noticed my hair did not become as dry as they become with other henna powders. Also my hair looked bouncy and had volume after use of this henna powder. Now coming to color payoff, it gave dark red color to grey strands in my hair. I did not like this color as I have always liked my hair all natural black. No complaints, because Godrej Nupur Henna Mehndi is natural henna powder with no chemicals at all. But I am not a fan of dark red color, and hence will not be using it again because after soaking this mehendi first for good amount of time and then keeping it on my hair for 3 hours certainly did not gave me the results I was expecting for in terms of color.
WILL I RECOMMEND TO PURCHASE GODREJ NUPUR HENNA MEHNDI POWDER?
I will recommend to purchase Godrej Nupur Henna Mehndi powder if you are looking for natural henna powder to color your hair and you do not have problem with dark red color that it gives. If you are looking for mehndi powder that make your hair natural black, then Nupur Henna Mehndi powder is not for you. Also I will like to mention that application process on hair is long and messy. Nupur henna can also be used on hands and feet for making mehndi designs but I have not tried it this way and hence, cannot comment how strong color Nupur Henna mehndi will give on hands and feet. As of now, I will not be repurchasing Nupur Henna Mehndi powder for myself again.
